About the event

The Honest Lawyer 5k Series is a long-running series based from The Honest Lawyer Country Pub in Monaco, Nelson. There are up to 15 races this Summer season held on Monday evenings, with a mini-series of 7 races in November and December, followed by another 8 races in February and March.

There are two courses:

The "Peninsular" Course is a delightful out and back along the picturesque Monaco Peninsula.

We try to alternate where possible, however as The "Peninsular" Course has a short section along the beach, this is dependent on tides.

Events are open to both runners and walkers of all abilities and age groups. We have two major spot prize draws each year, courtesy of The Frontrunner, Richmond Mall. To qualify for the draws, entrants must complete in 6 of 7 events in the first series and 7 of 8 in the second series.

Registration

"Full Series" entry is open until 9pm the day before the first race in each series. After that only "Advance" single event entry is available.

Advance entry for each race week is open until 9pm the day before each race.

On-the-day Registration opens from around 5:15pm in the Courtyard outside the Honest Lawyer. 

Entry Fees - for November & December 2023

Series: Adult - $26, Child - $13, Family (2 Adults & up to 3 Children) - $75

Advance: Adult - $4, Child - $2, Family (2 Adults & up to 3 Children) - $11

On-the-day: Adult - $5, Child - $2.50.

Race Start

Walkers and Early Runners start at 6pm (generally those who will take over 30mins). Runners start at 6:15pm. 

Spot Prizes

After each race, we have a Spot Prize draw, which are selected at random, held back at the Honest Lawyer at about 7:15pm. All entrants to the event will be entered in the draw. Entrants must be at prize giving to receive a Spot Prize.
